Technology

The manufacturing methods we have developed, our range of interior surface materials, and our more than 60 years of experience in manufacturing complex composite structures make us a pioneer in the industry. Combined with our customer-focused approach and ability to customize products, you can be sure that we’ll provide you with exactly the solution you need.

When plain is not enough

Structural features

Sandwich construction (road tanks only)

The sandwich structure consists of a selected inner surface, structural layers, and an insulating layer that stiffens the structure. Thanks to this structure, the tanks are self-supporting and have seamless surfaces.

Separate exterior surface (container units only)

The exterior surfaces of the tank containers are lined with durable and extremely lightweight fiberglass panels. These lining panels, which are commonly available in the industry, can be obtained worldwide, and any container maintenance provider can, for example, repair or replace a damaged exterior surface.

Addressing

In road tankers, in particular, there is often a need to divide the tank into several compartments of different sizes. For example, we have built 2-, 3-, and 5-compartment tanks according to our customers’ needs.

Loose walls

All of our tanks can be equipped with splash guards, or ordered without them. Splash guards reduce liquid movement during transport, enhancing safety and driving comfort.

Eriste

The very structure of a composite tank provides excellent thermal insulation, and there are no thermal bridges in the structure. Tank containers are typically insulated with energy-efficient PUR insulation, and the insulation can also be customized to meet the customer’s needs.

Sustainability

The products we manufacture are thoroughly tested—for example, their impact resistance and creep resistance are top-notch. Each container is individually tested and inspected.

Composite tanks also withstand exceptional accident scenarios well.

Interior surface options

The selected interior lining material always covers the entire tank; the liquid never comes into contact with metal. In our tanks, the manhole collar and cover are also made of the same material, as are the inner surfaces of the connection fittings; furthermore, the valves are usually coated or made of plastic to withstand the chemicals being transported.

Fiberglass / Reinforced Plastic (FRP, GRP)

A fiberglass-lined tank has a seamless, uniform inner surface with a corrosion-resistant layer approximately 2.5 mm thick. Fiberglass-lined tanks can also be manufactured using heat-resistant resin, which allows for the transport of liquids at temperatures up to 100°C. Fiberglass-lined tanks are primarily designed for transporting a single chemical, as they do not accommodate changes in chemicals as well as other lining options.

Thermoplastics

The most popular material for the interior surface is HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), which allows for the transport of many different chemicals in the same tank. Polyethylene is also a food-grade material.

Fluoroplastics

Fluoroplastics such as ECTFE (Halar) and FEP have the broadest range of chemical resistance, making them suitable for transporting even the most demanding chemicals.

Composite as a material offers endless possibilities
